6) What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Blogger

When conducting my music research and planning I had to set up a blog account to put all of my coursework on. I did this by going onto the blogger website and signing up my own blog account. When this was done this allowed me to upload the process of creating my music magazine. My blog contained a combination of detailed text explaining how I had done different part of my work and also images I had used or practiced with along the way.

Technologies

During the construction of my media product of a music magazine I have learnt and worked with a great deal of technologies that helped me with the outcome of my music magazine. When working on my media product I regularly blogged step by step the process of what I had done as I built and put together my final product.

Different technologies

To make my media product I used a range of different technologies. Although most of my work was done on a computer there were many other different technologies I made use of for the task such as:
  •          An ipad mini for the use of its camera
  •          Ipad computer wire – to transfer my images onto the computer ready to be worked with
  •          Internet Explorer
  •          A range of different websites including: Microsoft work, Blogger and Microsoft publisher

Internet Explorer

The internet was also extremely helpful to me during the creation of my product mostly through the research and planning side but also quite a lot in the actual creation of my music magazine as I used the website blogger to document the work that I had done.

Research and planning

During the research stage of my magazine the internet proved quite helpful as it allowed me to do some background information on different music magazines showing me such things as the layout or what sort of colours match each genre of music. I focused on the magazine NME’s website as I was going to be doing the same type of genre of ‘indie rock’ for my own magazine.

NME was also a good source of company to use when researching into my particular genre as I already know a lot about the magazine as I get a sent copy each week to my door so I knew how it was set out and what sort of images and text I should include when trying to attract my audience.

Blogger

Another way the internet helped me with my media work is the opportunity to use the website Blogger. On my blog I was able to document all of my research and planning including step by step pictures of what I had done to create my final magazine product. If I was not to have used blogger to upload all of my work onto then I would not have been able to gain or support much evidence through handwritten work as photographic evidence could not have been shown this way.
